Questionnaire :

1)     When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer ?
Ans: I wrote my first story when I was 5 years old. I was an avid reader through my childhood and growing up years, and pursued an MA in English Literature hoping to become a full time writer. However, I then entered the world of logistics and the idea of becoming an author went on the back burner.

2)     How long does it take you to write a book ?
Ans: My first two books 6-8 months each to write.

3)     What is your work schedule when you are writing ?
Ans: I have no fixed schedule. I am busy during the week with my main profession, so my writing mainly happens on weekends, during flights or late nights in hotels when I am travelling.

4)     What would you say is your interesting writing quirk ?
Ans: I never prepare an outline of my story. The characters and incidents develop as I write. I myself do not know the ending of my story until I get there !

5)     Where do you get your information or ideas for your books ?
Ans: My first book ‘A Friend Like Karna ‘ was inspired by the Mahabharata and my childhood hero  Karna. My second book ‘The Times We Live In’ was just born out of an idea. At a time when Religion is being used to polarize the world and to justify terrorism, I wanted to bring out the point that it is circumstances and hatred that make  a terrorist.

6)     What do you like to do when you're not writing ?
Ans: I read a lot still, watch sport and spend time with my family. I also love to travel and am passionately involved in my career in logistics.

7)     Tell us something about your novel/book ?
Ans: The Times We Live In ‘ is a complex tale to have crafted because it spans seven decades, moves across locations on three continents, and moves from being a human drama into suspense thriller mode before climaxing in the mode of high patriotism. It is a work of fiction interwoven with true events, and some of my best loved characters from my first novel “ A Friend Like Karna’ make strategic appearances and catalyze key developments in the plot. I would not like to reveal more as it could then spoil the surprises for the reader!
And,

8)    What one of the most surprising thing you learned in creating your books ?

Ans: One of the most heartwarming surprises that creating my books has brought is the connect their publication has brought with readers across the world. Thanks to the digital and ecommerce platforms my books have reached readers in multiple countries from New Zealand to Brazil. Recently, two readers reached out from Birmingham requesting signed copies, and I have arranged to meet them in the UK in a few weeks to honour their wish.
