AUTHOR'S INTERVIEW : WISDOM CAPSULES BY DEBASHIS BARAH

About the novella:
'Wisdom Capsules' is not a how-to manual for people to do and achieve things. It is a treasure having all the wisdom of the Visionary of Truth which anyone can imbibe and lead a life of significance. It is not meant to be used as a self-help manual for finding solutions to day-to-day problems but to be used rather as a guide for attaining enlightenment in various practical situations in life. This book is meant to help people search deep in their lives to find answers to fundamental questions that relate to their self-identity and individuality. This book tries to give a glimpse of the mindset and the thought process of the Visionary of Truth. It is not easy to define a Visionary of Truth in one line. The Visionary of Truth is a realized soul. The most important question that one should ask is why a Visionary of Truth behaves the way he does? The main purpose of this book is to share with the readers some of the basic characteristics of a Visionary of Truth that differentiate him from the rest of the people in this world. The purpose of this book is not to teach one to become a Visionary of Truth. But the ideas and the thoughts contained in this book can definitely make one think beyond one's limitations and can help to cross the boundaries of ignorance and enter the zone of blissful living.

Questionnaire:

1) when did you first realize you wanted to be a writer ?
Ans: It took me more than ten years to write this book. The book Wisdom Capsules from the Diary of the Visionary of Truth is basically my own realizations of different aspects of life. I started putting down those realizations and thought of sharing these with everyone else and that’s when the idea of writing a book came to my mind.

2) how long does it take you to write a book ?
Ans: As I have mentioned, it took me around ten years to write and publish my first book Wisdom Capsules from the Diary of the Visionary of Truth. As the book is about my realizations of different aspects of life, it was not possible for me to keep writing the book continuously at a stretch. I was definitely going slow while writing the book but even after completing the main text of the book it took me another three years to complete the process of publishing.

3) what is your work schedule when you are writing ?
Ans: As I was writing the book slow, I really didn’t have to struggle with the work schedule as I was mostly writing in my spare time. Moreover, I feel that it was not difficult for me to find time for this work as I was quite passionate about it. The kind of stuff I love to write and the kind of stuff I love to learn are stuffs I am quite passionate about and that is personal development which I discovered long back in my life.

4) what would you say is your interesting writing quirk ?
Ans: It is personal development. I discovered it long back in my life that the thing that excites me more than anything else is to know myself better and to know how I can make myself better. That is why I developed a particular thought process quite early in my life that helped me to look at the world from a different perspective. The reason I have chosen personal development as my field of study is it is actually at the core of any other development in life. I have realized one thing that whatever happens in our life always happens inside ourselves first. So if we can fix that first, everything else gets automatically fixed.

5) where do you get your information or ideas for your books ?
Ans: Since my childhood, I was an avid reader. I used to read a lot of books but after a stage in my life I developed a particular interest for personal development stuffs and since then my focus primarily shifted towards the betterment of my own self. So I started studying relevant books, watching relevant videos and movies that provide a message of social or personal mastery, reading biographies of the great men and studying their lives. Gradually, I started developing a different perspective towards my life and my whole view of life got changed. I believe that each human being is a reservoir of unlimited ideas and everyone has unlimited potential.

6) what do you like to do when you're not writing ?
Ans: Most of the times I read. I really don’t have any particular time for writing but whenever some new ideas or thoughts come to my mind I write it down and then try to elaborate it further.

7) tell us something about your novel/book ?
Ans: Wisdom Capsules’ is not a how-to manual for people to do and achieve things. It is a treasure having all the wisdom of the Visionary of Truth which anyone can imbibe and lead a life of significance. This book is meant to help people search deep in their lives to find answers to fundamental questions that relate to their self-identity and individuality.

And,

8) what one of the most surprising thing you learned in creating your books ?
Ans: Writing a book is not an easy task. It takes a lot of hard work and consistent effort. Writing the content of the book is one thing but when it comes to publication, it’s completely a different dimension. I have this practical experience because I finished writing the content of the book Wisdom Capsules around 3 years before it was published but when I started the publishing process it was a completely new experience for me to do a whole lot of different things with a completely different focus. Another thing that I observed was that when I decided to write a book around 10 years back it actually put me in a different state of mind and I started looking at things quite differently. It helped me a lot to develop myself personally by working very closely on my consciousness level. This is my belief that our true measure of growth is determined by the growth in our level of consciousness. More we are able to think and act and decide consciously, more we are growing to a higher level in life.
